In the last documentary I published this month, I tried over 10 completely different hooks before settling on one! I love the reminder to bring that intentionality to viz, too! And I really like the example you give here :)
Thank you! What kind of hook do you use most often in your YouTube videos? :) It's definitely not easy to find the perfect what, but I find that playing around with different openings is super fun 😀
I’m still learning (haha perhaps that’s why it takes so many iterations)! But the one I settled on for this documentary was throw them directly into a story they’ve never heard about a character they know well (just like your example, actually!)
The hope was to prove to an audience that is suspicious of clickbait that I have something new and interesting for them.
We’ll see how it performs, and if it works the way I hoped!
